I never made it to New York (my Dad talked me out of it when he told me how miserable the winters could be, and for a San Diego girl, and that scared me just enough to stay near the beach!)
But I digress….
Before my life as The Design Boss and owner of San Diego Office Design, I spent 15 years hustling for a local magazine, and made a really good living. (Enough to keep me from moving to the Big Apple!)
Then, around 2008, things in the print advertising industry took a massive downturn along with the rest of the economy and my fun and profitable job became a massive grind.
That’s when I knew it was time to re-invent myself. And that’s just what I did!
Its been an amazingly rewarding journey, and I am thankful (almost every day) for the dream career that I was able to build for myself.
If we’re really honest, we’ve probably all had those moments of overwhelm, overwork, and overstress, right?!
It was in those moments that I developed the courage to keep moving forward, and also where I was brave enough to reach out for help and guidance from my own mentors, coaches and teachers.
Yes, even coaches have coaches (or at least they should!)
Im proud of the business and team that I’ve created, as well as the big projects that we have designed, managed and furnished- our largest was over 60,000 square feet. Honestly, its more enormous than even my biggest vision of what it could have become.
I’m unconventional design firm owner, a super-creative out-of-the-box thinker, and more resilient than I ever could have imagined when I started out.
I’ve developed unique tools, strategies, resources and an amazing network of top-of-their-game pros that add their expertise along the way too!
Unlike other coaches and groups, Im running a thriving firm day to day, and Im rally implementing and using all of the strategies, tools, tactics and resources that I share with my VIP clients.
